New website! Why? Because Microsoft decided to start charging for their previously free service! SOOO, if we were going to have to pay Microsoft every month, we decided to look for a different service to pay. We liked this system slightly better, because it gave us some extra functionality. You'll see that in the site, where we now have new "Contact Us" pages under different sections. Each one goes to the appropriate person - so no more e-mailing the webmasters and hoping they remember to pass things on.
We also hope to gradually add free webpages for any town business that would like one. To see a sample, click on the Headworks link on the Businesses page. It's a way for small businesses to have a searchable presence on the web without the expense or hassle of putting up their own site. It's not perfect, but it could be better than nothing.
The single biggest change? The addition of this blog. Some of you may recall that last year, during the school budget debate, there was a healthy, polite (!) discussion on the town Facebook page. Someone even went so far as to suggest we have annual town meeting on Facebook - LOL! Anyway, Facebook did away with the concept of a discussion page, so we thought this might take its place. Please keep posts clean - and polite - that's all we ask. Thanks.
Eileen & Bryan, as webmasters, are the initial authors/creators of this blog. But we sincerely hope others will take over and we don't have to hear ourselves "talk." We bet you don't want to hear us talk, either.
