What's New for 2012?

Picture
- TWO Events on Friday night:  one for the 21 and over crowd, one for everyone.
- Monroe Idol competition and a Tug O'War on Saturday afternoon.
- A 5K "Scarecrow Shuffle" Fun Run on Sunday morning.
- A switch-up between our music groups:  Back Shed plays at lunch, Mclure's plays at dinner.
- And so pleased to announce blood pressure screenings by the Fast Squad, and free child-ID cards complete with fingerprinting!

Other things to note?

- Monroe's FAVORITE Scarecrow Couple will be back again this year.   We've seen them get engaged, enjoy coffee together, and last year, get married.  So what's up for this year?   If you haven't been by the town park, go.   This year, they are on honeymoon!  In the  meantime, be sure to get your OWN Scarecrow ready.   Scarecrows should be up by Monday, September 24th.  Be sure to register here so we know to come look and take pictures!

- We'll be parking on a field owned by P.J. Blanchard this year.  There will be signs to direct you off Rt. 135, and wonderful volunteers to help you park if you arrive towards the beginning of the activities.   There will be limited handicapped parking available in the school lot.   You can also park at the Town Hall or Post Office.   Please do NOT park in the field across the street as in years past.

- This year's Baking Contest is . . . BROWNIES!   Or Blondies, or, or . . .

- ALL contests this year will award ribbons or certificates, as well as the usual bragging rights.    Prizes with cash values from local businesses are not being pursued; we just want the event to be about fun and community spirit.    The only exception is Sunday morning's Fun Run, where we will have some gift certificates for the top 3 finishers in over and under 18's, male and female.    Thanks for understanding.

- The ONLY activities that have any fees associated with them are the Friday night dance, and food sales.    As always, all of the rest is FREE.

- Want to volunteer?    Please click here to give us your contact details and we'll get right back to you!    Seriously . . . we will get RIGHT back to you.   You'll think we're stalkers or something.
