Monroe FAST Squad
Vial of Life Program
The FAST Squad is pleased to participate in the "Vial of Life" program, with the assistance of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Vials of Life are plastic "medicine" vials that are meant to hold a list of a patient's medications. The kit includes the vial and a sticker for the patient's main door or refrigerator door. The patient (or a relative) completes the list of medications, puts it in the vial, and stores the vial in the refrigerator. EMT's who spot the stickers know to look in the refrigerator for the Vial, which will give them the information they need about a patient's medications. This can be especially important when a patient is unable to answer for themselves, and it saves EMT's from having to search for a medicine basket or list. The kits are available free of charge to any resident of Monroe, NH.
